Artificial flower arrangement
Unlike fresh flowers, artifical flowers are long lasting and can be arranged in many beautiful styles. As Chinese New Year is coming. I had arranged a Chinese New Year arrangement using Peony flowers.

A table arrangement using exotic flowers
I helped my instructress to do a table arrangement. Flowers like wild flowers, cybidium, geberas, nosa, cornus berry and salah leaves were used.
My instructress wanted this arrangement to look big; something like console arrangement. I think it will suits places like hotel reception, lobbies and buffet tables.

Greenthumbs event @ East Coast Park
This event was organised by National Parks Board. It launches the new certification system via workforce skills qualifications body.
My fellow classmates and myself attended this event mainly to take part in the floral arrangement competition. This was my first time taking part in a floral arrangement competition. My main objective is not to win but to gain experience in competition and see what other floral arrangers create in their arrangements.
There were 2 designs that had to be done: a hand bouquet and a table arrangement. We were given a set of flowers to use for each design and have to complete in one hour for each.
I was quite lost when I first saw the flowers given to me and I did not know how I should create each design. Trial and error a few times before I created something. These are the designs which I had completed.

Christmas Arrangement
Although Christmas had just past, I had not learnt to do an arrangement for this special holiday festival.
I like the christmas arrangement very much. Its very beautiful and heartwarming especially when its candles is lighted up. It can be placed at homes as a decoration, in receptions and in parties.
Roses, ornarments, tea leaves, baby's breath and cornus seeds were used for this arrangements.

Triangle arrangement design
This is a triangle table arrangement. A tall vase is used.
There are 5 main points to make this arrangement: The highest point must be 2x the height of the vase, the main focal point (the lily), the left and right points must be 1x the height of the vase and point below the focal point must be protruding.

Lesson 4: Tall vase design
This was the 2nd piece of work that I learnt in this lesson. Tall vase design is a free style design, which does not have standard skeleton to follow. The height of the arrangement should be twice the height of the tall vase. The flowers the foliage used were Sunflower, linifolium, cypress stick, cordyline and ming fern.

3rd lesson: Horizontal Design
Following the recap of dome design arrangement, June and Joelyn taught me horizontal design aka long table arrangement. From the name, it suits tables which are long and rectangular,
The way to arrange the flowers is similar except one side of opposite stems are longer and equal length. This is what I have done today with help from June and Joelyn.
