A call from Workforce development agancy (WDA)

I received a call from WDA this afternoon for my certificate collection ceremony. She informed me that it will be in September.

I'm not very sure which cert I will be collecting. Is the the cert for workplace, safety and health course organised by my school which I attended last Saturday. Or, is is for my floral exams which I had taken?

Anyway, I will know when I go there. She also added if I am interested to be interviewed by the media that day. I was very surprised and lost. I replied to her that I was still unsure because I am not very confident to speak in front of the media. However I would also like to have a chance to experience what was like to be interviewed.

I think this will be an exciting event for me. If media comes to interview me that day, I think I will try. There will always be 1st time.

I havd been busy preparing my bridal floral exams for the past month and its now finally over!
Here are some of the exam pieces which I had done. I feel that this exam is the most difficult exam among the 3 exams which I had taken.

I have been busy preparing and practising for my hamper exam which I had completed today. Phew! Seo far so good! These are the two types of hampers which I had done today.

My next challenge will me exam on bridal services. It will be the most difficult one among all my exams in this school. I will be busy preparing for it!

Pin Corsage

Pin corsages are commonly used in weddings and formal ceremonies for VIPs. Its can look simple and grand. Here are 2 kinds of designs: 1 with fillers flower caspia and ribbon; 1 with very simple look - just a ribbon only.

Wrist corsages

I requested my intructress to teach me to make wrist corsage. So its a wrist corsage day for me today! Together with my intructress, my classmate and myself we tried making a few designs.

Hanging design

Hanging design are usually placed on the walls or doors. The flowers and foliage are arranged such that they look flowing. Flowers and foliage with soft stems are usually used. For example, turlips, ivy leaf, onion leaf and anethum leaf were used in arrangement below.

There are many ways to arrange this design. My instructress and myself had tried a few designs.

Traditional Biedemeyer

Traditional biedemeyer is a round shape design consisting of mixed flowers and foliage of different layers.



The flowers and foliage used in this biedemeyer are geberas, carnation, anethum, tea leaves, banksa and cordyline leaves.

Bridal Bouquet

A few of us did a bridal bouquet each. The first 2 picture were done by me. The other pictures are done by my classmates.

The flowers and foliage used are lily, rose, statice, onion leaves and caspia.

Flower arrangement for mother's day

Carnation are symbols of motherly love and is usually presented to mothers during mother's day.

Besides carnation, other flowers (like mom's favourite flowers) can also be added to make up a lovely arrangement gift for mothers during this occasion.

The flowers and foliage used are carmation, cymbidium, heloconia, bubble, sweet william, cordyline leaves and ruscus leaves.

Garland

Very often, we would usually see guest of honour and VIPs who were presented with these garlands.

A garland is make up of flowers (normally orchids) threaded together and is usually hand over the neck like a necklace.

I learnt to make it this lesson as below in the picture. The flowers and foliage used are orchid and song of india.
